We have four awards, by four community members. We described them in a thread, but here's the gist of it: Our subreddit has community awards, made by the community and curated by the mods (like every other type of post). This can be done tastefully (with text or with space), but it's a thin rope to walk. are grounds for removal as a case of being unclean and altering the logo too much beyond its original style, respectively. Black bars and whitespace, additional text, etc. status bar), and are frequently the cause of excessive black bars. They generate compression artifacts, contain details beyond the edit (e.g. Please, by the grace of Allah, don't post a screenshot! Screenshots rarely fit the subreddit, and the vast majority – probably over 90% – are removed.Additionally, changes are best made in the original style for the sake of consistency (which is grounds for scrutiny as clealiness) Some small adjustments to better support the modified text are fine, but the more is changed the more likely a post will be removed. Be conservative when editing the logo imagery.Even with no artifacting, perfect sizes, and the correct font, a post may be considered unclean if the text doesn't quite align. PNG is lossless and supports a full 8-bit color spectrum, eliminating these sources of uncleanliness. GIF is decent for animation, but is limited to 256 colors, which can cause trouble. The JPEG format is lossy and generates artifacting, which sometimes leads to removal. Nobody likes their post being removed, so here are some guidelines to avoid that: For example, making "Pepsi-Cola" by taking the "-Cola" from Coca-Cola and sticking it onto the end of the Pepsi logo is not a Sbubby. These are not considered Sbubbies, as a Sbubby must be an edit to the text of a single logo that maintains a single logo's style. NOTE: The "Logoswap" flair is NOT for "logo mashups" which combine the visual elements of two different logos, particularly the font, coloring, and styling. This includes official corporate sbubbies, like IHOb and FCK, or a Sbubby in a fictional universe.ĭiscussion about Sbubbies and/or the subreddit. Surreal Sbubbies, as described above in "Understanding squbblies." Edits where the logo text has been twisted into abstract forms. For example, the Pepsi logo, but instead it says Coke.* Sbubbies that are mainly real words that make sense.Ī logo with the text of a different logo. Sbubbies that are mainly nonsense gibberish words, in the spirit of the original Sbubbies. Note: only squbblies can be without text. Here is the original squbbly, to demonstrate. They heavily alter the logo and/or its text in a fashion that leaves it recognizable, but utterly different beyond the point of sanity. This is another sbubby, but it's rather nonsensical so we ruled it as being in Eef Freef! spirit. This is an excellent sbubby that is NOT in Eef Freef spirit, so it's classified as Eaten Fresh!.In contrast, if it's just random letters mishmashed together, or some series of words in a nonsensical order, it is in-spirit. But, in general, if there are some recognizable words/phrases, it is not in-spirit. We choose to leave the nonsensical nature ill-defined, as the divide can be blurry and gray areas are frequent. Keep in mind though, the blocky edges on that post are grounds for scrutiny, so be careful. Some posts, if they are cleanly cut-pasted, can function as both, like so. Some creators may even choose to emulate the original font by hand, which is totally viable, albeit extremely challenging. Sbubbies must be clean, whether it be by cut-pasting parts of an image together carefully (in such a way that people don't suspect that that's what you've done), or typing in new text in the same font. They are usually made by cut-pasting parts of an image together, rather than by replacing text in the same font. It's worth noting that box art, movie posters, etc. However, it is also cleanly-edited (in that it does not have any obvious cuts, JPEG artifacts, blurring, repainting, or so on), and recognizable as an edit of the original Subway logo. Instead of it saying Subway, it reads Sbubby, so it has clearly been altered. For example, here is the original sbubby.
